Our Guiding Philosophy
Why Leadership Matters in EdTech
The best technology in the world fails students when it isn't guided by people who understand both the classroom and the system around it.
Cognify Foundation's leadership team doesn't just advise from the outside. We build programmes, forge partnerships, conduct research, and navigate policy - so that schools don't have to do any of it alone.
We hold three commitments above all else:
✅ Equity first. Every initiative starts by asking: who gets left behind if we don't design this carefully?
✅ Evidence over hype. AI in education must be grounded in research, not trends. We build what works.
✅ Educators as partners. Teachers are not obstacles to change. They are its most important driver.
"AI must close gaps - not widen them."
- Cognify Foundation

Jack Martin leads Pan Ocean Advisory, a senior-led strategic advisory firm with over 30 years of experience in cross-border M&A, capital markets, and organisational development across Asia-Pacific and North American markets. For Cognify Foundation, Pan Ocean provides the strategic scaffolding to scale education initiatives across Hong Kong's school system - from institutional partnerships to operational development and stakeholder alignment.
Academic & Research Leader
Professor, Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong
Prof. Jacky Keung is one of Hong Kong's most accomplished academics at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, and data science. A PhD graduate of UNSW Australia, his research portfolio spans AI, machine learning, software security, and - most recently - the application of Large Language Models in educational technology.
With over 9,600 citations, an h-index of 50, and 150+ published works across leading IEEE and ACM journals, Prof. Keung brings world-class scholarly rigour to Cognify's curriculum and programme design. His ongoing research into LLMs and AI-assisted learning directly informs how Cognify builds its AI literacy frameworks for Hong Kong schools.
At Cognify, he ensures that what we teach is not only current - it is academically sound, evidence-based, and built to translate from research into classrooms.
What we stand for
The AI era is the most significant shift in education in a generation. It demands people at the table who have:
- Legal knowledge to navigate what AI in schools must comply with
- Academic authority to ensure what we teach is grounded in evidence
- Strategic capability to scale from one school to the whole system
- Financial literacy to build programmes that endure beyond any single grant
That's Cognify Foundation's leadership. Not advisors at arm's length - partners in the work.
